It was a little before noon and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. We arrived in Phoenix and were headed for Sedona, a small town two hours South. People from all over the world know of Sedona, Arizona. It’s a gathering site and a watering hole for the more esoteric of travelers and explorers.
Orbologists, Transcendentalists, Yogis, and Astro Travelers are just a few of the fold who look upon it as home, not to mention former Republican-nominee John McCain, who keeps a house there.
As we neared Sedona we saw a sign for a gas station. Outside the dusty store, an older gentleman sat and played his guitar. He told us about a town not far from there, named Jerome. “It was a ghost town and then hippies and artists moved up there, and turned the whole place upside down” he said.
We put the name of the town into the GPS and it calculated a 30 minute drive.
As we made our way up snake-like roads, a tiny city began to form and on the wrinkle of a small mountain mine we found Jerome.
To be continued…
