Marilyn Monroe and Elvis were just a few personalities that sang and sparkled, strutting their costumes before dozens
of decorated tables at Evergreen Foundation’s 2009 Celebrity Waiter Dinner. The event honored some of Shreveport’s generous philanthropists, raising over $70,000 for Evergreen’s clients with developmental disabilities.
Presented by Eloise, Enoch and Margery Norton Foundation, the event took place at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs, overlooking the racetrack.
A three-course dinner was brought to each table along with wine donated by Glazers distributors, provided by Barefoot Wines.
Ron and I had the pleasure to emcee the event, for a cause close to both of our hearts.
“Evergreen’s mission is to help people with disabilities build better lives … (It) is a premier provider of services to nearly 1,000 individuals in six states,” said Foundation Development Director Becky Howland.

It was a fantastic event for a fantastic cause. Everyone felt honored to have donated their time and/or resources for those in need in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
