francosinisrael.blogspot.com- Just a little tidbit of information. Tomorrow night Sir Paul McCartney is performing his first concert in Israel (outdoors in the big Yarkon park in Tel Aviv). The whole country has gone insane over his arrival.
Wherever you go people are talking about him….it appears to have even taken political overtones. He is giving a news conference today, after his rehersal, about his decision to visit Israel and he’s received death threats from some Muslim groups. All the nightclubs in Tel Aviv are closing, theaters have cancelled plays, etc. In preparation for Thursday night’s show, police have released a list of traffic adjustments, changes to bus and train routes and a request to the public to help ensure that one of the biggest musical acts ever to hit Israel goes off without a hitch. All the newspapers and TV newscasts are talking about his visit, his entourage and the special piano set up in his hotel. In a country as small as this it’s amazing how one person can affect things!
